‘Fleeting Under Light’ is an ongoing series that focuses on memory as much as on oblivion, and that speaks from the Latine diaspora. The project is a visual exploration that attempts and fails to grab memories of my homeland and to define the Latine identity as pure and static. The works were created using images from my personal archive, as well as new photographs made in collaboration with family members in Peru and New York since 2018.

The use anthotype in the works was a process of experimentation that merged the ancestral organic dyeing techniques I learned in the Andean region of Cusco and purple corn, a plant commonly used in Peru to make traditional drinks and desserts. The resulting works following this method are ephemeral photographs that fade over time. The process and ephemeral quality have become a metaphor for ideas like home, identity, and even origin.
